Diesel is an Italian retail company that was founded in 1978 in the Molvena region of Italy by Renzo Rosso. Most commonly known for their denim jeans, Diesel also has product lines in footwear, accessories, other clothing such as shirts, jackets, and underwear, and also have their own luxury fragrance.

Renzo Rosso began sewing jeans at the age of 15, using his mother’s sewing machine to produce bell-bottom jeans which he then went on to sell to his friends. He later attended a textile manufacturing high school to perfect his sewing skills. Having worked for a clothing manufacturer called Moltex, owned by Adriano Goldschmied, Renzo went on to purchase a 40% share in the company. Moltex became Diesel in 1978  and by 1985 Renzo was the sole owner of the company. Renzo himself says that his success has come from learning marketing from the US, creativity from Italy, and systems from Germany.

In 1999 diesel opened its flagship stores in San Fransisco, Rome, New York City, and London, and now has its clothing and accessories within other high-end retail stores worldwide. 3 years later in 2002, Renzo Rosso began purchasing additional fashion companies under the parent company ‘Only the brave’.

Most famous for their jeans, Diesel off a huge range of different sizes and fits to suit all. Whether it be; slim fit, skinny fit, tapered, or straight you’ll be sure to find exactly what you’re looking for. Using Italy’s finest factories you can expect high-quality fabrics and stitching. Diesel jeans now also offer an elastic option to ensure optimum comfort along with style.
